Want to improve your confidence when speaking in English, here are my top 5 tips to get you speaking like a 'G' super fast!1. Visualise
2. Fake it till you make it!So you visualised your success. Now its time to put this into action. "Fake it till you make it"! This is an English expression which means if you pretend that you have excellent confidence, great ability and a positive mindset a person can achieve those those qualities in real life. Pretend that you already have confidence. How would a confident person behave speaking in English? They would stand tall, talk at a good volume, and 'brush off' any mistakes they make. Step into this persons shoes. Adopt these similar behaviours and to get out of your comfort zone and achieve your goals. 3. Love your mistakesMistakes are normal and nothing to be ashamed off. English is such a complex language, even native speakers sometimes get things grammatically wrong. I often encourage my students to JUST talk rather than worrying about every little grammar detail. Worrying about every little mistake slows down your conversation and makes you and the listener more confused. Embrace your mistakes, love your mistakes. If you've made a really big mistake when speaking the listener will correct you or ask you to explain further. Mistakes are the best way to learn and improve! The more comfortable you become in your mistakes the more confident you will become. 4. Keep smiling
5. Practice practice practicePractice makes perfect! Whether that's singing along to your favorite English songs, watching films with English subtitles (even better with none at all ;)) or practicing with an English teacher. Online Classes are a great way to develop your confidence in English. The more you practice and become immersed in the language the more it will feel like 'second nature'.
